Every rescue follows the same path. Scroll through it with footage filmed by our own team.
A shopkeeper, a student or a passerby spots an animal in trouble and calls our helpline and tells us exactly where the animal is.
Our team reaches the spot, calms the animal and moves it safely into the rescue vehicle.
Wounds are cleaned, medicines given and meals served on schedule. Some recover in days, others need weeks of care.
Healthy animals return to their own neighbourhood. Those who cannot go back stay with us or find a loving home.

Our work
Healthy, safe street animals living alongside people who look out for them. Here is what that takes, day to day.
01 · Rescue
Accident victims, animals with infected wounds, paralysed dogs and animals trapped in drains or construction sites. When someone reports an animal in need, our team reaches the spot and brings it in.
02 · Treatment
Rescued animals receive wound care, fluids, medicines and surgery where needed. Then comes the slow part: clean dressings, regular meals and someone checking on them every day.
03 · Feeding & street care
Not every animal needs to leave its street. Our volunteers feed community animals, treat minor wounds and skin problems on the spot, and keep an eye on the ones who are struggling.
04 · Sterilisation & vaccination
Sterilisation is the humane way to keep street populations stable, and anti rabies vaccination protects animals and people alike. Both are central to how we care for Guwahati's community animals.
05 · Shelter & recovery
Animals who cannot recover on the road stay with us. Some are with us for a few weeks. Those who can never go back, like paralysed or blind animals, stay for good.
06 · Release & adoption
Street dogs are territorial, so healthy animals go back to the exact neighbourhood they came from. Those better suited to a home are put up for adoption.

Yes, many indie dogs adapt well to apartments with daily walks and company. We will help you choose an animal that suits your space.
Talk to us first. We will help with behaviour and settling issues, and if a return is needed, the animal comes back to SEVA, never to the street.

About SEVA
SEVA Trust is an animal welfare organisation based in Guwahati, Assam. We exist for the animals who share our streets and cannot ask for help themselves.
Our belief
Seva means selfless service. For us, it means showing up for an animal that nobody else stopped for.
We rescue, treat, sterilise, vaccinate, feed and rehome street animals, and we work with local communities so that people and animals can live side by side with kindness.
SEVA Trust is led by its Chairman, Devdutt Sarkar, with a hands on team of staff and volunteers.

Policies
How SEVA Trust handles donations, campaign funds and refund requests.
Effective date: 15 January 2025
Donations made to SEVA Trust are non-refundable. Your gift is put to work right away for medical care, food, shelter construction and the day to day costs of running our rescue and care operations.
When you give to a specific campaign, your donation is used only for the purpose stated in that campaign. If a campaign cannot go ahead, we will tell donors how we plan to use the funds instead.
If you donated the wrong amount or were charged twice, please email us within 7 days of the transaction.
Donations to SEVA Trust are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. We provide donors with the documents needed to claim this benefit.
We are committed to being transparent about how donations are used. If you have any concern about the use of your donation, please get in touch with us.
